ECJ restricts international data transfers and declares the privacy shield invalid
In today’s “Schrems II” decision, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled on the admissibility of international data transfers and presented major challenges to EU and US companies. Because of the ruling, companies outside the EU will have to offer a significantly higher level of data protection than before and restrict access by national authorities (primarily “security” authorities).
