Security and Defense

The use of dual-use and multifunctional technologies overcomes the previous separation between civil and military research. Due to the new security situation (in particular asymmetric threat scenarios), the boundaries between security and defence are becoming blurred. Increasingly, an integrated European defence equipment market is developing; previous exemption provisions are being reviewed and partly abandoned.

We have extensive experience in public procurement procedures, foreign trade issues and in drafting contracts for research projects in the security and defence sector as well as for mili-tary space projects.

We advise in particular within the scope of the following projects:

  • European Security Research
  • Military satellite projects
  • IT Outsourcing
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV or drones)
  • Geoinformation
  • Arms procurement (e.g. German Armed Forces, NATO)
  • Use of space
