U.S. Government authorizes 30-cm resolution imagery
DigitalGlobe is now a step ahead of his challengers when it comes to aerial imagery business. On 22 February 2015, the U.S. Government authorized the commercial sale of 30-centimeter-resolution imagery, setting the conditions for a new technology (WorldView-3) that none of DigitalGlobe’s competitors have. With the introduction of WorldView-3, Digital Globe’s revenue will directly increase due to the higher amount of gathered high-resolution imagery. DigitalGlobe’s main customer is the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
