Dordain Unapologetic about Galileo at Wide-Ranging Press Conference
At his annual press conference in Paris on January 17, ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain was collected and positive, when he laid out plans of ESA. Dordain made no excuses for ESA’s failure to proceed with scheduled Galileo satellite launches last year. He anyway was firm in announcing ESA’s new timetable to put six more operational satellites into orbit this year.
ESA furthermore announces launches, deployments and a big, new budget framework with the European Commission will highlight 2014. ‘With new activities afoot, we want to improve our working arrangements with the European Commission. So all of this calls for a new Delegation Agreement’, says Dordain.
