BHO Legal at ESA-ESPI Workshop on “Space Data & Cloud Computing Infrastructures: Policies and Regulations”

On 7 July 2017, a one-day ESA-ESPI-Workshop was held that adressed some of key policy and regulations questions – such as concerning data rights and IPRs – raised by today’s continuous digitalization process, and in particular by the growing use of distributed computing for science data.

During the workshop a a roundtable with selected speakers and experts was chaired by BHO Partner Dr. Ingo Baumann which debated the policy and regulatory landscape in (space) big data. The round table participants particularly reflected on the question: “What are the key challenges in terms of policies, regulations and general legal aspects to pave the way for optimal technical solutions?”
