US Presidential Memorandum on Domestic Use of UAS

On 15 February 2015, the U.S. White House has released a Presidential Memorandum “Promoting Competitiveness While Safeguarding Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties in Domestic Use of Unmanned Aircraft”. The Memorandum realizes the rapid development and great potentials of UAS operations and includes orders for Federal Government use that take account of privacy, civil rights and liberties, accountability, and transparency issues. Moreover, a multi-stakeholder engagement process is introduced in order to establish best practices for both private and commercial use of UAS.
