Awareness Tool for German Drone Regulation Presented
At the 2017 RPAS Conference held in Brussel, BHO Legal partner Oliver Heinrich presented a new awareness tool developed by the firm for the DroneRules.eu consortium. The awareness tool will help hobbyist and professional drone users to understand whether they need a general or even specific permits to legally fly their drone in Germany.
The tool will provide a simple to use list of yes/no-questions which will let the user determine which kind of permit and from which institution is needed. It will also provide immediate links to relevant addresses and definitions of terminology to allow every user to understand the crucial but sometimes complex legal terminology.
“The new rules on drones in Germany provide new opportunities but they have also become more complex. The awareness tool will help drone pilots and companies understand the new requirements and design their projects accordingly” Oliver stated at the occasion of the conference. The awareness tool is currently implemented by the DroneRules.eu consortium partner GOPA, responsible for building the project’s website.
DronesRules.eu is a project co-funded by the European Commission under COSME – Europe’s programme for small and medium-sized enterprises.
