This year the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit took place on March 25, 26 and 27 in \u201cDer Residenz, M\u00fcnchen\u201d in Bavaria. <\/span><\/p>\n

It annually gathers people involved with GNSS from around the world to report on current status and progress of numerous radio navigation systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

As in past years, the 2014\u2019s Summit legal session was again organized by <\/span>BHO Legal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the heading \u201cPrivacy Devices Legal Framework and other GNSS Legal Topics\u201d speakers from the European Commission, Eurocontrol, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the European Communications Office (ECO) discussed about the legal situation related to frequency allocation for E-GNSS and interference as well as ownership, use and sale of so called \u2018Personal Privacy Devices\u2019, i.e. GNSS jammers within Europe and worldwide. The session was chaired by Dr Ingo Baumann and Dr Oliver Heinrich of BHO Legal. <\/span><\/p>\n

The more technical program of the Summit included:<\/span><\/p>\n

–         An Opening Plenary with Mrs Ilse Aigner, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, Mr Matthias Petschke, European Commission Director of EU Satellite Navigations Programmes, Mr Jean-Jacques Dordain, ESA Director General, Mr Carlo des Dorides, Executive Director of the European GNSS Agency (GSA), Mr Jan W\u00f6rner, Chairman of the Executive Board of DLR, Mr Evert Dudok, Executive Vice President of Airbus Defence and Space, Mr Manfred Fuchs, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at OHB-System AG opened the Summit 2014 with their views on the topics GNSS, Earth Observation and Telecommunication.<\/span><\/p>\n

–         Numerous other panel discussions and presentations:<\/span><\/p>\n

       o   Updates and news on the constellations of the worldwide satellite navigation systems in operation and their development, with focus on GALILEO, GPS, BEIDOU\/COMPASS. <\/span><\/p>\n

       o   Discussions and updates on global\/regional augmentation systems particularly QZSS, IRNSS, EGNOS, WAAS, MSAS, GAGAN. <\/span><\/p>\n

        o   <\/span>Discussions <\/span>on Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and the future of GNSS in the user segment.<\/span><\/p>\n
