The revamped regulations reduce fees and ease coverage restrictions for satellite licensees. Industry Canada, moreover, agreed to act as licensing authority for satellites to be operated outside the Canadian orbital arc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cThe decisions represent a clear statement that the government of Canada wants to ensure that Canadian operators are not placed at a competitive disadvantage in relation to operators licensed in other jurisdictions,\u201d Telesat &#8211; Canada\u2019s biggest fleet operator &#8211; Chief Executive Daniel S.
