Dipl.-Geophys. Ingolf Bode
Ingolf Bode graduated 2003 with a degree in Geophysics (Kiel University) having completed his thesis on Doppler radar research. In addition he also took modules in Business Administration and Mathematics. He worked at the GEOMAR Research Institute in Kiel on scientific programmes with special emphasis on geodynamics, seismic research and gas hydrates. Ingolf Bode acquired profound knowledge in the field of electronics through hands-on experience. Owing to his experience and training, he has worked on marine measurement technology for various geophysical companies in Germany and in the United Kingdom. He trained as patent attorney in Aachen and Munich and was assigned to the Higher Regional Court for Patents (OLG) at Düsseldorf as a trainee patent attorney (Referendar). He qualified as a patent attorney (Patentanwalt) in 2006 and is registered at the OHIM in Alicante as a European Design and Trade Mark Attorney.
Ingolf Bode works primarily in the areas of physics, medical devices, aeromechanics and electrical engineering as well as in agricultural machinery technology, environmental technologies,
nanotechnology, semiconductors and in satellite and marine navigation. He particularly focuses on training and advising on IP-Management, patent and trademark infringement, drafting and filing of brand names, patent and trade marks, initiating objection proceedings, invalidity proceedings, cancellation proceedings, drafting license agreements as well as conducting searches on freedom to operate (FTO) and providing legal validity reports. He is member of the Patent Attorney Association (Patentanwaltskammer) of the Licencing Executive Society (LES) and of the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP). Ingolf Bode lectures on topics dealing with industrial legal protection at the universities of Karlsruhe, Hamburg and Kiel. He contributes articles to the Deutsche Geophysikalische Gesellschaft and to the magazine “Managing IP” and “Inside GNSS”.
