Roderic Ortner, LL.M.

Roderic Ortners' practice focuses primarily on procurement law, IT law as well as regulatory law. One of his main interests is the defence and security sector. He lectures public procurement law at the University of Cologne.

His client base includes international and medium-sized companies as well as public entities.

Dr Ortner studied law at the University of Cologne. He then received his Master of Laws in European Environmental Law at the Amsterdam Law School with his treatise on "Genetically Modified Organisms in EU Law". During his legal clerkship, Dr Ortner worked at the German Embassy in Bangkok. After having passed his Second Sate Exam, he graduated from the University of Cologne with a Ph.D. in the area of public procurement law under the guidance of Professor Dr Ulrich Ehricke. During the past years, he worked first for a law firm in Cologne specialised in technical and environmental law and then in the Munich office of the international law firm Bird & Bird LLP.
